Covering Letter

As a general dentist, I have worked in almost every capacity, including as a solo practitioner, in group practices, sharing an office with other dentists, employing associate dentists, an associate, and locum tenens. In group practices my responsibilities always included business management, as this is an area of strength for me and is a role with which I am comfortable. I have provided support for colleagues by tending to their patients during times of medical incapacitation, as well as volunteering my time and services at Mission East Dallas, all of which have been rewarding experiences.

Staff members consistently find me easy to work with and jovial in nature. Working efficiently while providing quality care is always a priority to me, along with attention to patient comfort and understanding all of the patients’ treatment goals and expectations. I work hard to establish rapport and trust with all patients and make a point to treat staff members with respect and in a professional manner.

I actively and passionately pursue my continuing education requirements each year, which have focused primarily on general dentistry with an emphasis on surgery, cosmetic restorations, and Invisalign treatment. I am also certified to provide Level 1 conscious (enteral) sedation.

My professional goal moving forward is to provide temporary replacement for doctors who need to be out of their offices for relatively short periods of time, such as during medical treatment, pregnancy, and/or travel. I have found that there is a need in our dental community for such services, and I enjoy the opportunity to work in a variety of environments while supporting my colleagues. In this capacity, I can provide treatments that include crowns, bridges, veneers, composite restorations, extractions, removable partials, Invisalign, and treatment for pedodontic patients that do not present management issues. Treatments that I refer are endodontics, periodontal surgery, scaling and root planning, full banded orthodontics, and implant placement.

If you have a need for such services, please feel free to contact me by phone or email. I look forward to discussing your goals and how I can support you.

Thank you,

Dr. J.W. Shaddix, Jr.
